Land Acknowledgement

The Creativity Campus is situated at 236 Christie Street, in Treaty 13 Territory, just south of the Gete-Onigaming portage route now known as Davenport Road.

Used for thousands of years by Indigenous travellers to connect the Don and Humber rivers, Gete-Onigaming is the oldest and longest route in Ontario. To learn more about Gete-Ongaming or Davenport Road, have a look at this video from the Museum of Toronto.

Founded by settlers on this land, The Creativity Campus is committed to upholding the terms of The Dish with One Spoon treaty and acting responsibly to protect and care for the land and to only take what we need from the land to ensure that there will be a healthy, long-term, sustainable environment for many generations to come. We further commit to supporting the creative efforts, development and community of Indigenous individuals, artists, families and communities as we build and grow our business and offering.

We are grateful to the many Inuit, First Nations, and Métis individuals and communities that steward the lands of our city, province, and country and for their historic and ongoing work to sustain and care for this land we call home.
